Religious Education

Religious Education (RE) helps pupils understand the religions and beliefs of people in our community and around the world, and to reflect on their own beliefs and values with respect and empathy. RE is taught in every year group, following the Hackney Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education.

What pupils learn

Pupils learn about Christianity and the other principal religions and worldviews represented in our community and in Great Britain, building their knowledge year on year as set out in the Hackney Agreed Syllabus.

Your right to withdraw

Parents and carers have the right to withdraw their child from all or part of Religious Education. If you are considering this, please contact the headteacher through the school office so that we can discuss what is taught and agree arrangements for your child during RE lessons.
