Geography

Our geography curriculum aims to inspire curious, explorative thinkers with a broad knowledge of the world, empathy for how other people live and respect for the planet. Pupils learn to observe places, collect and record data, and analyse and present what they find.

Pupils develop locational knowledge, place knowledge, an understanding of human and physical geography, and map and fieldwork skills. Units include Why do people live near volcanoes? (Year 3) and Can I carry out an independent fieldwork enquiry? (Year 6).

The curriculum overview shows what pupils learn each term; the progression map shows how knowledge and skills build from year to year.
