Chair's Welcome

Kristofer McGheeHello,

I'd like to introduce myself.  I am Kristofer McGhee and I am the Chair of Governors at Princess May Primary School.  My day job is a ligation lawyer and I work at a firm in the City.

I joined the Governing Body in 2010 and took up the Chair shortly thereafter. I have an interest in education and young people having previously been active on the boards of the British Youth Council and the Scottish Youth Parliament.

We have seen some great improvements in standards over the past five years which we can attribute to a strong and developing Leadership Team and a Governing Body which acts as a critical friend. My aim - which is shared by the governors and the Senior Leadership Team - is that the school becomes the school of choice for parents and pupils in the local community. We want, also, to be an Ofsted "Outstanding" school in the next few years.

I've been proud to be be part of the school's rapid improvement and am looking forward to the next phase. We have some exciting plans for the school building which will hopefully make the school a more attractive place for our pupils to learn.

I am grateful to the hard work and time commitment from my fellow governors as well as the dedicated teaching and non-teaching staff. We are continually looking for parents and the local community to play an active part of school life - if you are interested, do get in touch via the School Office.

Best Wishes

Kristofer McGhee
