As part of our curriculum at Princess May, pupils are required to gain key knowledge in all of their subjects. This knowledge will equip them not only to understand each subject in more depth, but will also help them to understand the world around them. At Princess May, we understand that learning knowledge takes time and this part of the website is dedicated to providing resources to help pupils revise the content needed each term.

In KS2, pupils will be provided with ‘knowledge organisers’ from the following subjects each half-term:

• Science
• History
• Geography
• Religious Education
• Art
• Design and Technology
• Computing

As part of their weekly homework pupils will be expected to revise from each knowledge organiser. They will also take part in daily 'Retrieval Practice' activities for each lesson. This knowledge will then be tested three times a year in the form of a multiple choice test. From the results of these tests pupils will be able to see which subjects they are performing well in and which subjects they need to focus on. Pupils will also undertake 'End of unit Assessments' in the form of essays, quizzes or experiments.

Pupils' Knowledge Organisers will support them moving information from the short and medium term memory, into the long term memory, where they will be able to recall it whenever they need it!
